I will talk about how to EASILY do maintenance/cleaning/oil on a Japanese Samurai Katana Sword in a video down below on YouTube.
1. Dust off with a cloth
2. Oil with a cloth
* Do this after showing a blade to somebody or out of a scabbard because
spit and sweat will oxidise the blade and rust the blade. It is best to put thin coat of oil. Not too much.
*If you are not showing the blade at all and putting the blade out of the scabbard, you don't need to
oil the blade often. Twice a year would be enough.
*Don't do this process everyday because it will make the blade rust.
*Oil protects from water in the air getting on the blade and then rust.
Please let me know any questions you may have :)
